βWe recently had our rooftop AC unit replaced by Back2Cool HVAC, and weβre very happy with how everything turned out. Replacing an entire AC system is a pretty big job, so we wanted to make sure we hired someone who knew what they were doing. The technician was very polite, easy to talk to, and answered all our questions without making us feel rushed. The installation went well, and everything was checked before the job was finished. What I appreciated most was that there was no unnecessary hassle or pressure to pay for anything extra. Our new system is running smoothly, the cooling is much better than before, and everything has been working exactly as expected. Itβs nice to find a company that actually cares about doing the job right. Would definitely use Back2Cool HVAC again.β

βFast response, competitive pricing and very communicative. If you want to deal directly with a service technician, call Nick. Most other places will direct you to a call center that sub-contracts the work out. Nick is the real deal. After 2 hours of service our AC is back up and running, cleaned and in great shape.β

βOkay so first time an HVAC company ever left me a gift after a job!!! π€―π Didn't see that coming at all. And honestly the whole visit was like that. They covered the floors, double checked everything, and explained what they did without me even asking. HVAC companies have always been kind of a headache for me, but these guys were sooooo different π 10/10, already told a couple friends about them πππβ

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about HVAC installation.
01Do I need a permit to replace my AC in Los Angeles?
Yes. In the City of Los Angeles, a mechanical permit from LADBS is required even for a like-for-like swap. Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Burbank and Glendale issue their own permits. We file and schedule the inspection for you.
02What is Title 24 and HERS testing?
Title 24 is California's energy code. When you replace a system, it usually requires checks such as duct leakage testing, verified by an independent HERS rater. It protects your efficiency and is often needed for utility rebates.
03How long does an installation take?
Most straight replacements take one to two days. Ductless systems take one to three days depending on the number of zones. New ductwork or complex hillside access can add time, and we tell you the schedule before we start.
04Are there rebates for a new system?
It depends on your electric utility. LADWP customers may qualify for heat pump rebates, and SCE, Burbank Water and Power and Glendale Water & Power run their own programs. The federal 25C tax credit ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025. We check current programs for your address before quoting.
05What refrigerant do new systems use?
New air conditioners and heat pumps use lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32. Our technicians are trained to handle them.
06Do you also do repairs?
Yes. If your system is worth fixing, we will tell you. See our repair or replace guide for how we help you decide.
